Eco-Drive is Citizen's signature movement. It converts any light, daylight or indoor, into energy and stores it in a rechargeable cell, so the watch runs without a traditional battery. A full charge typically lasts several months in the dark, which means no regular battery changes to worry about.
No standard battery changes are needed. Eco-Drive uses a rechargeable cell that tops up from light, so as long as the watch sees light reasonably often, it keeps running. The cell itself lasts many years before it may eventually need servicing.
